Sirajganj: Four people, including mother and daughter, were killed in separate road accident at Shilonda of Shiyalkol union and Balukol area of Kamarkhand union under Sadar upazila in the district on Saturday.
Three auto-rickshaw passengers were killed as a passengers’ bus ran over it at Shimultala area of Shilonda on Sirajganj-Nalka regional road on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Urmi Khatun, 20, wife of Mohon of Mugbelai village of Kamarkanda and her one and a half year old daughter Mohini and Abu Kawsar, 29, son of Azizul Haque of Kaliakanda village of Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh.
Confirming the news, Sadar thana officer in-charge Helal Uddin said, the accident happened around 8:00 pm Saturday when a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw ran over by a passengers’ bus coming from opposite direction in the area leaving Abu Kawsar and Mohini dead on the spot.
On information, fire service rushed to the spot and recovered the injured and sent them to Sadar Hospital where Urmi succumbed to her injuries.
Earlier around 7:30 pm at Balukol area an elderly man was killed as an unknown vehicle on Bangabandhu west road link ran over him.
Bangabandhu bridge west thana officer in-charge Mohammad Daud said the deceased fell off the roof of a bus in the area and was ran over by another leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Sadar Hospital morgue.
However, the identity of the deceased could not be known.
