Shakib, Mushfiqur in’s Test XI of the year

Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim have been selected in’s best Test XI for 2017. is Cricket Australia’s official site and after the pair made the Guardian list, Shakib and Mushfiqur have also slotted in to’s Test side.

Shakib and Mushfiqur have taken sixth and seventh spot in the order; which are the same positions that the duo took up in the Guardian Test XI.

Shakib, despite taking a break from Tests during Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa have managed to play seven Tests, scoring 665 runs in 14 innings. He averages 47.50 in 2017 with a career-high 217 during Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand. The all-rounder lead from the front with a 10-wicket haul against Australia, where the Tigers won a memorable Test match at Dhaka.

Shakib also slotted in at number 7 position in’s T20 XI. He played in 29 T20 matches and scored 447 runs and grabbing 37 wickets.

Mushfiqur played in eight Tests and scored an impressive 776 runs at an average of 54.71. His best innings of 159 also came against New Zealand where he was involved in a 359-run record-breaking partnership with Shakib.
