Birdsongs will be broadcast live on India’s government radio channel ‘All India Radio’ or ‘Akashbani’ on May 6 to create awareness among the younger generation about wildlife conservation.
The birdsongs will be played live from Chapramari in West Bengal, reports our Kolkata correspondent.
On May 6, audiences can listen to bird calls from 4:30am to 10:30am, the correspondent reports.
From 2015, the first Sunday of every May was observed as ‘International Dawn Chorus Day’ under the initiative of World Wildlife Trust.
“The initiative was taken to create awareness among the younger generation about wildlife conservation, especially conservation of different species of birds,” said Director General of All India Radio F Shahriar.
