The protesting garments workers alleged that the authorities of Gold Star Design Limited shut the factory and did not pay any Eid bonuses to the staff and workers.

Upon request from police, the workers left the road around 11:30am considering public sufferings.

However, our correspondent visiting the area found hanging a notice on the main gate saying that the authorities decided to shift the factory to their own building in Gazipur BSCIC area and the operation from new location will start from June 24.

The correspondent could not reach the factory officials for their comment.
