To celebrate the holy Eid-Ul-Adha in the capital, the socio-cultural voluntary organization ‘Dhakabashi’ arranged a vibrant and festive Eid rally at TSC of Dhaka University on Wednesday.
Keeping the ongoing catastrophic dengue-crisis in mind, this year’s slogan of the rally was “Be alert and aware to prevent Dengue”.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid inaugurated the rally as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Workers Party’s President Rashed Khan Menon attended the rally as its special guest. The program was hosted by Bangladesh Awami League’s advisory team member and Dhakabashi head advisor Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, who till December last served as an advisor to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The welcome speech was presented by Dhakabashi President and Eid rally celebration committee convenor Md Shukur Salek. Among the other guests, Dhakabashi advisors Haji Abdus Salam and Ajfarujjaman Sohrab, the organization’s Secretary-General Sheikh Khodabakhs, and their metropolitan committee convenor Lutfor Ahsan Babu were present at the event.
The colorful rally started from the TSC compound and marched through several corners of the capital. People of all ages and classes, and festivity with elements such as horse-carriage, snake-flute, festive placards-balloons-festoons and a brass band- were all part of the march, doing their bit to spread the festive and jovial essence of Eid in the city.
