AFC Cup: Abahani due to fly for Pyongyang Sunday

A 31-member Dhaka Abahani Limited team will fly for North Korean capital Pyongyang Sunday early hour (2:10 am)  to play their away match of AFC Cup inter-zonal semifinal against April 25 Sports Club on August 28 at the Kim-ll-Sung Stadium there.

The Nigerian striker of six-time Bangladesh Professional Football League champions Dhaka Abahani Sunday Chizoba will join the team Sunday afternoon.

Abahani Team Manager Satyajit Das Rupu said, “Sunday has got North Korean visa. He will join the team Sunday afternoon.”

“Egyptian defender of AbahaniAlaaeldin Nasr Elsayed Eissa, who missed the home against April 25 SC on August 21 due to red card, will play for Abahani in the match,” he addad.

Eissa, who played for Maldivian TC Sports Club in AFC Cup 2018, got two yellow cards during their last match of the competition against Bengaluru FC of India on February 20.

Earlier, six-time BPL champions Dhaka Abahani Limited beat April 25 SC (4.25) of North Korea by 4-3 goals in the first leg home match of the inter-zonal semifinal at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on August 21.

Dhaka Abahani need just a draw in their away match to enter in the inter-zonal finals for the first time.
